9. Guidelines for Conversion of Title

o       Conversion is concerned with showing the pre-registered title, i.e., documents and events that predate the First Registration.  Sometimes solicitors begin, in error, with the registered title.

o       Comply strictly with the Forms.

o       Strike out alternative clauses: the application must specify which alternative applies in the particular case.  They are not omnibus clauses.

o       Produce the Land Commission documents (vesting order or Fiated Purchase Agreement; possibly Final List).

Where the Possessory Title or Qualified Title arose from a Voluntary First Registration, deal with the Rulings raised at the time, e.g., provide missing names and addresses, or show that the additional lapse of time cured the title.
