If an entire parcel is to be transferred, the transfer should be effected by the Transfer transaction and by reference to the Parcel Number. Where the Parcel is entered on the old system, (e.g., referenced by townland and Plan-number), first lodge a Parcel Capture transaction to give the Parcel a Parcel Number.
If subdivision of a Parcel ("plan" in the old terminology) is intended, first effect the subdivision by means of a subdivision transaction, and then effect the transfer of ownership by means of the transfer transaction. (The subdivision transaction divides the Parcel into two or more parcels, but leaves the ownership intact).
